JAKARTA – Kolom letusan abu vulkanik Gunung Agung di Bali mencapai 3.000 meter dari puncak kawah dan sebarannya mengarah ke timur-tenggara arah Pulau Lombok.
Berdasarkan informasi tertulis Kepala Pusat Data Informasi dan Humas BNPB Sutopo Purwo Nugroho di Jakarta, Minggu, sebaran abu vulkanik dari gunung berapi yang berada di Kecamatan Rendang, Kabupaten Karangasem, Bali, ini hingga pukul 08.30 WITA mengarah ke Pulau Lombok.
Erupsi dengan ketinggian 2.000 meter dari puncak kawah gunung terpantau terjadi sekitar pukul 05.05 WITA, dilanjutkan erupsi berikutnya terjadi sekitar pukul 05.45 WITA dengan ketinggian semburan mencapai 3.000 meter dari puncak kawah gunung berapi yang memiliki ketinggan 3.031 meter di atas permukaan laut (mdpl).
Abu vulkanik tebal pada pagi ini, menurut dia, masih terus keluar dari kawah sehingga ancaman potensi bahaya bagi masyarakat masih berupa abu vulkanik.
Pada Sabtu (25/11), erupsi freatik terus terjadi dan semburan abu vulkanik erupsi Gunung Agung jatuh di Desa Besakih, Desa Penampatan, Desa Temukus di lereng barat daya gunung tersebut. Sehingga masyarakat diminta untuk melakukan evakuasi meninggalkan desa-desa di radius enam hingga 7,5 kilometer (km) dari gunung sesuai rekomendasi Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG).
Ribuan masker, lanjutnya, telah dibagikan ke masyarakat dan mereka diminta tetap menggunakan masker tersebut saat berada di luar ruangan.
Sedangkan terkait penerbangan, ia mengatakan 2.087 penumpang mengalami pembatalan penerbangan internasional di Bali pada Sabtu (25/11). Sebanyak delapan penerbangan internasional batal mendarat dan 13 batal terbang dari Bandara Internasional I Gusti Ngurah Rai meski tidak ada pernyataan dari PT Angkasa Pura I bahwa bandara berhenti beroperasi.
