Papua Barat – Sejak dilonggarkannya peraturan perjalanan oleh pemerintah Indonesia, terlihat wisatawan asing di Raja Ampat, Papua Barat, kembali bergeliat. Salah satunya adalah Robert Monk dari Kanada yang berwisata ke Raja Ampat, tepatnya di Kepulauan Batanta. Tujuan utama dia berkunjung adalah untuk menikmati pesona bawah lautnya, khususnya di Pulau Dayan. Di sela-sela berliburnya, Konstantinus Saleo selaku pemandu dan koordinator kelompok rehabilitasi ekosistem pesisir Kampung Yensawai mempromosikan kegiatan penanaman mangrove, lamun, dan terumbu karang (25 Juli 2022).

Robert sangat tertarik dan antusias untuk ikut menanam mangrove, lamun, dan terumbu karang. Dia mengatakan bahwa dia banyak melakukan traveling ke beberapa negara dan melihat banyak hal, tetapi kegiatan masyarakat di Kampung Yensawai sangat menarik, yaitu melakukan konservasi dan restorasi ekosistem pesisir. Ini adalah hal yang berbeda, dan sangat senang melihat kegiatan ini.

“Perubahan iklim di bumi ini terus terjadi, solusinya adalah dengan melakukan perbaikan dan pemulihan seperti ini. Kegiatan ini harus terus dilakukan karena sangat luar biasa dan berharga, dan berharap dapat kembali menanam mangrove, lamun, dan terumbu karang bersama keluarga,” tambahnya.

Kegiatan rehabilitasi ekosistem pesisir merupakan aktivitas rutin Kelompok Rehabilitasi Ekosistem Pesisir Kampung Yensawai. Kelompok merupakan dampingan dari Pusat Kajian Pesisir dan Lautan (PKSPL), Lembga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM), IPB University, yang dibentuk saat program COREMAP-CTI bekerjasama dengan Kementerian BAPPENAS dan Indonesian Climate Change Trust Fund (ICCTF). “Saat ini, program tersebut telah berakhir, akan tetapi antusias kelompok dan masyarakat terus berkembang. Bahkan, dua tahun berturut-turut kelompok juga mendapatkan dana hibah dari CSR PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Sorong, ujar koordinator kegiatan tersebut, Dr. Fery Kurniawan.

Upaya konservasi dan kegiatan rehabilitasi ekosistem pesisir kurang berjalan dengan baik dan berkelanjutan jika tidak diintegrasikan dengan pengembangan ekonomi. Salah satunya pengembangan ekowisata, yang merupakan bagian dari manfaat ekonomi yang akan dirasakan oleh para pegiat konservasi. Adanya wisatawan asing yang ikut terlibat menjadi sinyal untuk pengembangan wisata di kampung ini. Maka dari itu, kegiatan rehabilitasi ekosistem pesisir menjanjikan

pengembangan ekowisata yang sesungguhnya, Ungkap Fery Kurniawan yang juga peneliti senior di PKSPL dan dosen di Manajemen Sumberdaya Perairan, FPIK, IPB.

Kegiatan rehabilitasi ini adalah komitmen PKSPL IPB beserta kelompok masyarakat untuk melestarikan alam dan lingkungan. Dengan demikian, kita bisa ikut mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan.(Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs 13 dan 14)
