JAKARTA – Dinamika politik Indonesia jelang pemilihan kepala daerah (Pilkada) 2018 dan pemilu Serentak (Presiden dan Wakil Presiden) dan legislatif pada tahun 2019 diprediksikan akan menimbulkan terjadinya gesekan-gesekan di masyarakat antar kelompok pendukung pasangan calon. Salah satu sumber gesekan di masyarakat yang dikhawatirkan menimbulkan konflik itu bersumber dari adanya informasi berita bohong (hoax) yang secara sengaja disebar oleh kelompok tertentu dengan tujuan untuk menjatuhkan kelompok lainnnya sehingga berdampak pada stabilitas politik dan perkembangan kehidupan demokrasi.
“Dalam Pilkada DKI kita menyaksikan betapa ibukota seolah-olah terbelah, perseteruan sengit dan konflik horizontal hampir terjadi karena banyaknya hoax yang beredar di masyarakat,” ujar Kasubdit Fasilitasi Peningkatan Demokrasi Kemendagri, DR. Akbar Ali ketika berbicara sekaligus mewakili Direktur Politik Dalam Negeri pada kegiatan Forum Komunikasi Sosial Politik dalam Rangka Menciptakan Stabilitas Politik Dalam Negeri di Jakarta, Rabu (29/11/2017).
Menurut Akbar Ali, pengalaman Pilkada DKI 2017 memberi pelajaran penting bagi bangsa Indonesia akan bahaya berita hoax yang cenderung menciptakan situasi disintegrasi bangsa. Bangsa Indonesia kini berada dalam fase ancaman berita bohong atau hoax dan berita hoax ini merupakan ancaman serius bagi stabilitas politik dan pertumbuhan demokrasi.
Karena itu, kata Akbar Ali, akibat berita hoax ini telah mengakibatkan masyarakat menjadi tidak terdidik karena tidak memiliki kebenaran tentang informasi yang didapat. Hal ini berakibat, orientasi politik mereka cenderung dimobilisasi oleh elit dari pada berpolitik karena kesadaran pilihan politiknya. Jika hal ini tidak dicegah, yang rugi tidak hanya masyarakat, tetapi juga bangsa dan negara ini.
Menurut dia, pendistribusian pesan hoax tergantung kepentingan dan umumnya bernuansa kebencian, sarat dengan sara (baca: suku agama dan ras), dan pembunuhan karakter (charachter assasination).
Kepada utusan partai politik, ormas, mahasiswa, tokoh agama, dan tokoh masyarakat yang hadir, Akbar Ali mengatakan melalui Direktorat Politik Dalam Negeri meminta peran serta masyarakat untuk membantu pemerintah dalam memberikan informasi yang benar yang beredar di masyarakat.
“Kita ingin peran serta anda dalam membangun kekritisan publik Indonesia dalam menilai setiap informasi sehingga masyarakat tidak menjadi korban hoax yang dapat merusak nilai-nilai kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa, dan bernegara. Intinya, jaga demokrasi dari berita-berita hoax dan peran anda menentukan nasib demokrasi,” pungkas Akbar Ali. (Zul)
