Balar Yogyakarta Kembali Temukan Artefak Langka Di Situs Liyangan Temanggung

KESBANG.COM, YOGJAKARTA – Berdasar hasil ekskavasi lanjutan yang digelar oleh Balai Arkeologi (Balar) Yogyakarta di Situs Liyangan Dusun Liyangan Desa Purbosari Kecamatan Ngadirejo Kabupaten Temanggung pada bulan September 2017 lalu, ditemukan beberapa fakta baru yang cukup menarik.

Menurut Kepala Balai Arkeologi (Balar) Yogyakarta, Sugeng Riyanto, hasil ekskavasi tersebut antara lain tim berhasil melakukan sebuah penelitian untuk memperjelas hubungan antara teras halaman empat menuju halaman ke tiga Situs Liyangan.

Dijelaskan, teras dari halaman empat menuju ke halaman tiga dibatasi dengan benteng dari bambu yang ditancapkan ganda dengan jarak 30 centimeter atau memiliki tingkat kerapatan cukup tinggi.

“Dengan adanya benteng bambu tersebut, dari halaman empat tidak bisa langsung ke halaman tiga dan harus melalui tangga terlebih dahulu. Namun sejauh ini tangganya belum berhasil kami temukan,” jelasnya usai menjadi narasumber pada Seminar Sejarah Lokal di Pendopo Pengayoman Kabupaten Temanggung, Senin (2/10).

Selain itu, lanjutnya, tim juga berhasil memperjelas data mengenai sistem pertanian kuno di Situs Liyangan serta menemukan yoni pipih dengan tebal sekitar 20 centimeter berbentuk bundar dengan diameter sekitar 1 meter.

Di depan cerat yoni, katanya lagi, terdapat saluran air yang mengindikasikan bahwa yoni tersebut berkaitan langsung dengan pertanian dan irigasi. Sehingga peneliti memperkirakan bahwa yoni tersebut merupakan jantung pertanian kuno.

Yoni tersebut berada di struktur bolder. Seperti halnya struktur pertanian zaman sekarang juga berteras dan yoni berada di teras paling tinggi.

Sedangkan di bagian lubang yoni terdapat lingga. Jadi, ketika upacara berlangsung, air atau bunga langsung masuk ke bumi. Berbeda dengan gambaran mengenai sistem pertanian kuno dimana pada umumnya sebelum bertani penduduk terlebih dahulu mengadakan upacara di teras teratas kemudian airnya mengalir ke berbagai penjuru tanah.

“Lokasi ditemukannya yoni berada di tempat paling tinggi, kemudian kami menduga, di sana juga dilakukan upacara khusus oleh penduduk era tersebut menginga yoni pada umumnya merupakan lambang kesuburan. Artefak yoni seperti ini baru pertama kali kami temukan di Situs Liyangan,” bebernya. (riz)
