*JAKARTA* – Ketua MPR RI sekaligus Ketua Umum Ikatan Motor Indonesia (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo mengapresiasi terselenggaranya Musyawarah Provinsi IMI Sulawesi Utara (Sulut) yang digelar, Selasa (28/2/23). Dalam Musprov IMI Sulut tersebut Rio Dondokambey terpilih secara aklamasi sebagai Ketua Pengprov IMI Sulut periode 2023-2027

“Selamat kepada Rio Dondokambey yang terpilih secara aklamasi dalam Musprov IMI Sulut menggantikan James Sumendap. Pengalaman Rio yang saat ini juga menjabat sebagai Ketua KADIN Sulut diyakini akan mampu memajukan olahraga otomotif serta mengembangkan sport automotive tourism di Sulut,” ujar Bamsoet di Jakarta, Kamis (2/3/23).

Ketua DPR RI ke-20 dan mantan Ketua Komisi III DPR RI bidang Hukum, HAM, dan Keamanan ini menjelaskan, salah satu tugas pokok yang harus dilakukan oleh kepengurusan IMI Sulut yang baru adalah membentuk kepengurusan IMI hingga tingkat kabupaten/kota. Pembentukan pengurus IMI tingkat kabupaten/kota dilakukan oleh IMI Provinsi, kemudian disahkan oleh IMI Pusat.

“Kehadiran kepengurusan IMI hingga tingkat kabupaten/kota merupakan kebutuhan organisasi yang sudah diidamkan sejak lama. Namun selama ini tersumbat, hingga akhirnya sumbatan tersebut berhasil diselesaikan melalui Munaslub IMI 2022,” kata Bamsoet.

Wakil Ketua Umum Pemuda Pancasila dan Kepala Badan Hubungan Penegakan Hukum, Pertahanan dan Keamanan KADIN Indonesia ini menambahkan, kehadiran pengurus IMI kabupaten/kota tidak akan mengurangi kewenangan IMI Provinsi. Karena rekomendasi event otomotif serta pengesahan klub otomotif di tingkat kabupaten/kota, tetap menjadi kewenangan IMI Provinsi.

“Kehadiran IMI hingga tingkat kabupaten/kota akan memudahkan pembinaan, sekaligus menggali lebih banyak lagi potensi balap dari generasi muda yang ada di 514 kabupaten/kota se-Indonesia. Serta memperluas kerjasama IMI dengan berbagai pihak, dari mulai bupati/walikota, hingga kerjasama dengan Kapolres dan jajaran Forkopimda lainnya,” pungkas Bamsoet. (*)
