KESBANG.COM, JAKARTA – Prof. Din  Syamsudin dihadapan 99 pimpinan ormas Islam se Indonesia yang berada di bawah naungan Dewan Pertimbangan Majelis Ulama Indonesia menyampaikan penjelasan tentang kenapa menerima penugasan dari Presiden sebagai Utusan Khusus Presiden untuk Dialog dan Kerjasama Antaragama dan Peradaban.

“Saya usul Presiden agar menunjuk orang lain mewakili Presiden karena saya toh sudah mewakili masyarakat. Saya menolak dan memberikan kesempatan orang lain. Tapi Presiden kemudian memang kenapa tidak disandang secara bersamaan saja agar tujuan kemaslahana bagi umat dan bangsa lebih bbisa diperjuangkan,” kata Din mengulang permintaan  Presiden,  dalam rilis yang diterima redaksi Jumat (27/10/2019)

Pada kesempatan itu, kata Din, Presiden juga agar dai fokus Islam untuk mengembangkan Isalm di Indonesia sebagai jalan tengah yang Rahmatan Lil Alaamin, pro kebhinekaan dan menjadi model isnpirasi dari peradaban dunia.

Din yang sudah 15 tahun terakhir memimpin Presiden Conference on Peace berpusat  di Tokyo dan membawahi 22 negara ini menambahkan bahwa Pancasila dan Bhineka Tunggal Ika dipuji sebagai model masa depan peradaban dunia.

“Ini harus kita wujudkan secara nyata dan bukan sloga semata di dalam negeri,” harapnya.

Sebelumnya,  pada hari pertama pasca mendapat tugas sebagai utusan khusus presiden untuk Dialog Kerjasama Agama dan Peradaban, Wakil DPR RI Fakhri Hamzah memberikan selamat dan dukungan kepada Prof Din Syamsuddin.

Din menjelaskam,  awalnya dia menolak namun kemudian Din menerima dengan mengajukan 3 syarat. Salah satunya adalah bahwa prof akan tetap tetap kritis terhadap kekuasaan.

“Saya tidak akan berubah dengan segala diri dan kediriannya,” ujar Din.

Di hadapan para ulama, dia menegaskan bahwa keterlibatan barunya ini  dalam mnerima penugasan presiden adalah jalan untuk membantu dan memperkuat perjuangan politik Islam. (Jamil)
