JAKARTA – Sejatinya perempuan memiliki tugas penting, yakni di sektor domestik (rumah) dan sektor publik. Keduanya tidak bisa ditinggalkan.

Apalagi di rumah, peran perempuan sebagai istri dan ibu tidak bisa digantikan.

Hal itu disampaikan Ketua Umum Wanita Islam, Marfuah Mustofa, di sela-sela pembukaan acara Training of Trainer (TOT) organisasinya bertempat di Wisma Wanita Islam, Klender, Jakarta Timur, Jumat (24/11/2017).

Menurut Marfuah, perempuan harus aktif membina masyarakat sesuai dengan bidang keahlian masing-masing.

“Jangan puas dengan kehidupan pribadi,” ujarnya.

Meskipun, ia menilai, kehidupan dewasa ini cenderung membuat seseorang bersifat individualis dan acuh terhadap lingkungan sekitar.

“Sudah punya suami mapan, anak sudah sukses, untuk apa pusing-pusing mengurusi masyarakat. (Pemikiran) ini adalah egois atau individualis,” ungkapnya.

Hanya saja, Marfuah mengingatkan, peran perempuan di sektor publik harus seimbang dengan kewajibannya di rumah.

“Jadi jangan keluar rumah sebelum rumahnya rapi,” cetusnya.* (hidayatullah.com)
