*JAKARTA* – Ketua MPR RI sekaligus Wakil Ketua Umum Partai Golkar Bambang Soesatyo menuturkan bangsa Indonesia patut bersyukur bahwa dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, Indonesia telah mengalami kemajuan dalam membangun demokrasi. Beberapa indikatornya terlihat dari penyelenggaraan Pemilu yang seiring waktu semakin transparan. Proses Pemilu dapat diawasi oleh berbagai pihak, termasuk lembaga pengawas pemilu, organisasi masyarakat sipil, dan lembaga swadaya masyarakat.

Indikator lainnya adalah kebebasan pers dan media yang juga semakin meningkat. Terutama dengan hadirnya platform media sosial yang memungkinkan akses informasi menjadi lebih luas dan cepat. Meskipun masih dijumpai berbagai percik persoalan, namun secara umum indeks kebebasan pers terus mengalami peningkatan dari tahun ke tahun.

“Hasil survei Dewan Pers yang melibatkan 340 informan ahli dan 10 anggota penyelia nasional (national assessment council), mencatat indeks kebebasan pers Indonesia dalam kurun waktu lima tahun terakhir selalu mengalami peningkatan. Dari 69 poin pada tahun 2018, meningkat hingga 77,88 poin pada tahun 2022,” ujar Bamsoet dalam acara Advanced Training LK3 Badan Koordinasi Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam Jawa Barat, secara virtual dari Jakarta, Senin (12/3/23).

Ketua DPR RI ke-20 dan mantan Ketua Komisi III DPR RI bidang Hukum, HAM, dan Keamanan ini menjelaskan, dalam konteks kehidupan komunitas global, Indonesia memiliki peran penting dan strategis dalam mempromosikan nilai-nilai demokrasi pada berbagai forum. Mulai dari ASEAN, APEC, G-20, dan PBB. Di ASEAN, peran penting Indonesia dalam bidang ekonomi dan keamanan juga sangat besar, mengingat posisi Indonesia sebagai salah satu negara pendiri dan stabilisator kawasan. Indonesia juga telah beberapa kali mendapatkan kepercayaan menyelenggarakan Konferensi Tingkat Tinggi (KTT) ASEAN.

“Sebagai anggota aktif dalam forum APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation), Indonesia telah memainkan peran penting dalam mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi di kawasan Asia-Pasifik. Antara lain dengan menjadi tuan rumah KTT APEC tahun 1994 sekaligus perumus Bogor Declaration Goals, serta menjadi Ketua dan tuan rumah KTT APEC tahun 2013, dan mendorong terbentuknya Kerjasama Ekonomi dan Teknis (ECOTECH). Pada KTT APEC di Bangkok Tahun 2022, Indonesia mengedepankan gagasan pemulihan ekonomi yang inklusif dan berkelanjutan pasca pandemi Covid-19,” jelas Bamsoet.

Wakil Ketua Umum Pemuda Pancasila dan Kepala Badan Hubungan Penegakan Hukum, Pertahanan dan Keamanan KADIN Indonesia ini menerangkan, Indonesia juga menjadi anggota G-20 (Group of Twenty), forum yang terdiri dari 20 negara dengan ekonomi terbesar di dunia. Sebagai salah satu negara dengan ekonomi terbesar di kawasan Asia, Indonesia berperan penting dalam merumuskan kebijakan ekonomi global dan mempromosikan pertumbuhan ekonomi yang berkelanjutan. Kesuksesan Indonesia menjalankan tugas Presidensi G-20 tahun 2022 kemudian dilanjutkan dengan kepemimpinan Indonesia sebagai Ketua ASEAN tahun 2023.

Indonesia juga menjadi salah satu anggota aktif di Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB) dan memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk kebijakan global di bidang perdamaian, keamanan, hak asasi manusia, dan lingkungan hidup. Sebagai negara dengan populasi muslim terbesar di dunia, Indonesia juga berperan aktif dalam mempromosikan dialog antarbudaya dan toleransi di berbagai forum internasional.

“Pengakuan internasional atas peran penting dalam organisasi PBB tercermin dari terpilihnya Indonesia sebagai anggota Dewan Ekonomi dan Sosial PBB untuk keduabelas kalinya, terakhir periode 2021-2023. Dewan HAM PBB untuk kelima kalinya, terakhir periode 2020-2022. Serta anggota tidak tetap Dewan Keamanan PBB untuk keempat kalinya, terakhir periode 2019-2020,” pungkas Bamsoet. (*)
