*JAKARTA* – Ketua MPR RI sekaligus Wakil Ketua Dewan Pembina Perhimpunan Kebun Binatang Se-Indonesia (PKBSI) Bambang Soesatyo mengapresiasi langkah pengurus Gerakan Keadilan Bangun Solidaritas Bali (GERAK BS Bali) bersama pengelola Bali Zoo, mengajak anak-anak yatim lintas agama bersama para pendampingnya mengunjungi Bali Zoo. Selain mendapatkan tiket masuk dan makan siang gratis dari pengelola Bali Zoo, mereka juga mendapatkan santunan sosial dari GERAK BS Bali yang dikemas dalam acara kuis berhadiah dan fun game.

 

“Kegiatan ini dilakukan GERAK BS Bali dan Bali Zoo untuk menghibur sekaligus mengedukasi anak-anak yatim agar semakin mencintai alam, lingkungan, dan hewan. Karena terdiri dari anak-anak yatim lintas agama, kegiatan ini juga mengajarkan kepada mereka tentang pentingnya merekatkan ikatan kebangsaan di tengah beragamnya perbedaan. Mengajarkan kepada mereka bahwa semangat pluralisme merupakan bagian dari kekuatan yang mempersatukan bangsa Indonesia,” ujar Bamsoet dari Jakarta, Senin (26/9/22).

Turut mendampingi anak-anak yatim dalam kunjungan ke Bali Zoo, antara lain Ketua GERAK BS Bali Hamid Hadun, Wakil Ketua GERAK BS Bali Sindu Kumara, Manager Bali Zoo Ade dan Dokter Arya.

 

Ketua DPR RI ke-20 dan mantan Ketua Komisi III DPR RI bidang Hukum, HAM, dan Keamanan ini menjelaskan, Bali Zoo terletak di Jalan Singapadu, Gianyar. Merupakan konservasi binatang pertama di kawasan Bali. Didirikan A.A Gde Putra pada 4 September 2002. Koleksi satwanya sekitar 650 ekor yang terdiri dari sekitar 60 spesies. Bali Zoo terus berinovasi sesuai visinya menjadi Zoo Terbaik di Asia Pasifik, sehingga sangat cocok dijadikan destinasi rekreasi satwa bagi para turis keluarga, group, maupun perorangan.

“Walaupun masih di tengah kondisi pandemi Covid-19, dan terjadi penurunan kunjungan yang sangat tajam, Bali Zoo tetap mengutamakan kesejahteraan satwa dengan menjamin penyediaan pakan dan kesehatan. Penambahan wahana baru seperti Savanna yang disediakan untuk satwa Afrika juga merupakan salah satu inovasi Bali Zoo untuk menjadi daya tarik bagi pengunjung. Para turis domestik dan internasional yang berkunjung ke Bali, harus mampir ke Bali Zoo untuk melihat kekayaan satwa Indonesia. Selain berwisata juga bisa sekaligus memberikan edukasi kepada keluarga dan anak-anak tentang pentingnya mencintai satwa,” jelas Bamsoet.

 

Wakil Ketua Umum Partai Golkar dan Kepala Badan Hubungan Penegakan Hukum, Pertahanan dan Keamanan KADIN Indonesia ini menerangkan, Bali Zoo telah sukses mengembangbiakan beberapa spesies dilindungi seperti Owa Jawa, Siamang, Trenggiling, Lutung, hingga Harimau Sumatra. Bali Zoo juga ikut serta dalam proses meningkatkan populasi satwa di alam dengan program pelepasliaran beberapa satwa, seperti Rusa Timor, Landak dan Owa Jawa.

“Bali Zoo juga berhasil mengembangbiakan Gajah Sumatra (Elephas Maximus Sumatranus). Sejak Bali Zoo memiliki gajah pada tahun 2011, akhirnya pada 17 Maret 2022 Pukul 01.00 WITA telah lahir dengan sehat gajah pertama berjenis jantan. Memiliki berat sekitar 80 kilogram. Lahir dari pasangan betina Terry dengan jantan Budi. Penjodohan kedua gajah tersebut sudah dilakukan dari tahun 2017 dan akhirnya berhasil kawin pada Mei 2019. Kelahiran satwa dilindungi endemik Indonesia di Bali Zoo, di tengah kondisi pandemi Covid-19 yang menyebabkan penurunan kunjungan wisatawan dan penurunan pendapatan kebun binatang, menjadi bukti bahwa di tengah berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi, Bali Zoo tetap berkomitmen melestarikan satwa Indonesia,” pungkas Bamsoet.
