JAKARTA – Imam Besar Masjid Istiqlal Profesor KH Nasaruddin Umar mengatakan peringatan Maulid Nabi merupakan momentum bagi umat Islam untuk melakukan introspeksi dan refleksi sejauh mana telah mengikuti teladan yang diberikan oleh Nabi Muhammad SAW.

“Untuk itu, peringatan Maulid Nabi hari ini harus menjadi bahan refleksi untuk kembali menghadirkan `Nur Muhammad` yang tentunya dapat mencerdaskan dan menguatkan umat,” kata Nasaruddin di Jakarta, Jumat.

Menurut dia, peringatan Maulid Nabi sejatinya bisa mengukuhkan kesadaran umat Islam untuk meneruskan perjuangan dengan menyebarkan dakwah yang mengajarkan keimanan serta menjunjung tinggi nilai kemanusiaan sebagaimana yang diajarkan oleh Nabi Muhammad.

Umat Islam harus bisa meneladani Nabi Muhammad yang betul-betul “rahmatan lil alamin”, menjadi rahmat bagi seluruh alam, kata Guru Besar Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta ini.

Nasaruddin mengatakan, selama hidupnya Nabi Muhammad tidak pernah mengedepankan kekerasan dalam menghadapi segala macam permasalahan.

“Bisa dikatakan dalam menghadapi segala macam permasalahan, Nabi Muhammad lebih menekankan kepada aspek perdamaian, persaudaraan, toleransi, persamaan, dan keadilan,” katanya.

Selain itu, lanjut mantan Wakil Menteri Agama ini, Nabi Muhammad adalah sosok yang sangat menjaga perasaan orang lain, satu sifat mulia yang wajib ditiru oleh mereka yang mengaku sebagai pengikutnya.

Nabi Muhammad, lanjut Rektor Institut Perguruan Tinggi Ilmu Al-Quran (PTIQ) ini, adalah teladan yang baik dan lengkap, sebagai pribadi, kepala keluarga, anggota masyarakat, kepala negara, ilmuwan, seniman, bahkan pedagang.

Menurut dia, keteladanan Nabi Muhammad harus dijadikan pegangan oleh umat Islam Indonesia dalam memelihara perdamaian dan kesatuan NKRI dari berbagai ancaman perpecahan, termasuk ancaman paham radikal terorisme. (Ant)
