JAKARTA – Manchester City memperlebar selisih poin menjadi 13 angka dari rival sekota, Manchester United, setelah kedua tim meraih hasil pertandingan yang berbeda dalam kompetisi Liga Inggris pekan ke-19 pada Sabtu (23/12).

Manchester City menduduki puncak klasemen Liga Inggris dengan mengumpulkan 55 poin seusai mengalahkan Bournemouth dengan skor 4-0 pada Sabtu (23/12) malam berkat gol Raheem Sterling, Danilo dan dua gol Sergio Aguero.

Kemenangan Mancehster City diwarnai sejumlah catatan positif, antara lain keberhasilan klub mempertahankan rekor kemenangan 17 pertandingan berturut-turut dan tidak mengalami kekalahan sepanjang musim ini, serta Aguero yang mencetak 100 gol selama berkarir di Liga Inggris.

Sementara Manchester United, yang berada di urutan kedua klasemen, hanya mampu mengimbangi Leicester dengan skor 2-2, padahal klub berjuluk The Foxes itu bermain dengan 10 orang setelah Daniel Amartey dikartu merah pada pertengahan babak kedua.

Hasil imbang juga didapatkan tim peringkat tiga, Chelsea, saat bertandang ke markas Everton. The Blues tidak mampu menyarangkan satu gol pun kendati mereka menguasai pertandingan dengan melepaskan delapan tendangan ke gawang Everton.

Pada pertandingan pekan ke-20 yang digelar pada periode setelah Natal, 26-28 Desember, Manchester City akan menghadapi Newcastle, Manchester United menantang Burnley, Chelsea melawan Brighton, dan Liverpool akan menjamu Swansea.
