JAKARTA – Klub Surabaya Fever berhasil menjadi juara Seri I kompetisi bola basket putri nasional Srikandi Cup 2017–2018, setelah menaklukkan Merpati Bali di final, Sabtu (2/12), dengan skor 67-48.

Bukan cuma menjadi juara, pemain Surabaya Fever Natasha Debby Christalin juga sukses menjadi pemain terbaik di final Seri I dengan catatan 22 poin, sembilan rebound, dua assist dan tiga steal.

Dalam keterangan resmi yang diterima di Jakarta, Sabtu (2/12), bertanding di Gelanggang Olah Raga (GOR) Flying Wheel, Makassar, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, klub Merpati Bali sebenarnya berhasil memberikan tekanan di lima menit awal kuarter pertama kepada Surabaya Fever.

Namun, Merpati Bali tak mampu mengembangkan aksi dalam pertanding tanpa pemain andalan Agustin Graditta Retong dan Dewa Ayu Made Sriartha, yang mengikuti uji laga Asian Games 2018 di Jakarta, serta Lamia Rasidi mengalami cedera.

Setelah takluk 21-15 dan 35-25 di kuarter pertama juga kedua, Merpati Bali semakin tertinggal di kuarter ketiga maupun akhir yang berakhir dengan 58-33 dan 67-48 untuk kemenangan sang juara bertahan Srikandi Cup, Surabaya Fever.

Pelatih Merpati Bali Bambang Asdianto Pribadi menyebut kekalahan timnya di final disebabkan banyaknya kesalahan sendiri. Ditambah lagi, ketiadaan tiga pemain andalan membuat tim menjadi tak seimbang.

“Harus diakui tanpa Ditta, Ayu, Mia, kami sedikit timpang, meski ini bukanlah alasan mutlak. Kami terlalu banyak melakukan turn over yang berbuah poin bagi lawan,” catat Bambang.

Walau kalah, ia mengemukakan, tetap ada sisi positif yang diambil oleh pelatih yang akrab disapa Bing itu. Menurut dia, anak-anak asuhnya bisa beradaptasi dengan komposisi pemain yang tak lengkap.

Selain itu, dikemukakannya, hasil negatif bisa memberikan kesempatan bagi Merpati Bali untuk mengevaluasi diri.

“Kami harus menyusun pola serangan yang lebih baik. Di sisi pertahanan, saya kira kami sudah bermain bagus selama Seri I,” tutur Bambang.

Di kubu Merpati Bali sendiri, Dewi Kadek Pratita menjadi pendulang poin tertinggi di timnya dengan membuat 14 angka, lima rebound dan dua assist.

Menanggapi gelar kampiun Seri I Srikandi Cup 2017–2018, pelatih Surabaya Fever Wellyanto Pribadi mengaku belum puas. Alasannya, Gabriel Sophia dan rekan masih memiliki beberapa kekurangan yang mesti segera diperbaiki.

“Pertahanan dan komunikasi anak-anak masih kurang. Saat melawan Merpati Bali yang bermain kolektif, kami menang pengalaman. Kami harus bekerja keras di seri berikutnya,” tutur Wellyanto.

Seri II Srikandi Cup 2017-2018 akan digelar di Surabaya pada 29 Januari-4 Februari 2018 dengan tuan rumah Surabaya Fever.
