MAKASSAR – Kementerian Pertanian (Kementan) telah menetapkan arah kebijakan pembangunan pertanian yaitu mewujudkan Pertanian Maju, Mandiri, Modern. Arah kebijakan ini menjadi pedoman Kementan untuk bertindak cerdas, tepat, dan cepat bagi jajaran Kementerian Pertanian di seluruh Indonesia dalam rangka meningkatkan kinerja yang lebih baik pada tahun 2022.

Berbagai penghargaan dan apresiasi diberikan untuk Pemerintah Indonesia atas keberhasilannya lepas dari cengkraman covid 19 serta ancaman kelangkaan pangan.

Baru-baru ini Indonesia mendapatkan penghargaan Certificate of Acknowledgement dari Institut Penelitian Padi Internasional (IRRI) atas keberhasilannya dalam mencapai swasembada beras.

Prestasi ini tidak lepas dari upaya dan kerja keras semua pihak terutama para petani, dan seluruh stakeholder terkait untuk terus meningkatkan produksi beras, sehingga sudah tiga tahun lamanya sejak 2019, Indonesia tidak perlu mengimpor lagi beras.

“Saudara-Saudara sekalian, ancaman krisis pangan nyata, kita harus segera bertindak. Petani Milenial harus mampu Menjadi Pelopor Pembangunan Pertanian Perdesaan dalam meningkatkan produktifitas dan daya saing produk pertanian, menciptakan lapangan kerja perdesaan, serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani perdesaan.

Kalian adalah pasukan khusus dalam mengatasi krisis pangan global”, tegas Mentan dihadapan lebih dari 800 petani millenial yang berasal dari wilayah timur Indonesia pada pembukaan Sarasehan Petani Millenial kedua tahun 2022 (07/10).

Mentan pun menyempatkan diri untuk berdiskusi langsung tak hanya dengan petani millenial yang hadir pada acara Sarasehan Petani Millenial 2 di Claro Hotel Makassar tetapi juga dengan petani millenial yang tergabung secara online.

Adalah Ais dan Ika petani sekaligus pengusaha cabai Katokkon asal Toraja dengan omset diatas 1,3 M per sekali panen. Serta Ade Wardana dari Minaku yang telah menjadi offtaker bagi petani millenial lainnya. Ketika ditanya omset Ade mengatakan dari sektor pertanian mampu mencapai omset 2,3 trilyun.

Diakhir arahannya, Mantan Gubernur Sulsel ini berharap agar forum diskusi program petani milenial yang dilaksanakan dalam rangkaian kegiatan ini, harus mampu menghasilkan strategi penumbuhan usaha, jejaring pasar, pertukaran teknologi dan inovasi, serta mitigasi perubahan iklim global.

“Kalian harus siap atasi ketakutan, berani akses pemodalan dengan bertanggung jawab. Bangun kelompok, tingkatkan jejaring serta fokus pada usaha. Ubah orientasi usahamu dengan orientasi bisnis”, pesan Mentan.

Pada kesempatan yang sama Kepala Badan Penyuluhan dan Pengembagnan Sumberdaya Manusia Pertanian (BPPSDMP) Dedi Nursyamsi menjelaskan Sarasehan Petani Milenial yang kedua pada Tahun 2022 akan dilaksanakan selama 3 (tiga) hari, yaitu 6 Oktober sampai dengan 8 Oktober 2022 ini menghadirkan petani milenial dari wilayah Bali, Sulawesi, NTB, NTT, Maluku, Papua dan Papua Barat.

“Kami tidak berdiam diri, upaya dan dukungan terus dilakukan untuk meningkatkan regenerasi petani di Indonesia. Salah satunya adalah bekerjasama dengan perbankan, Kementan membuka akses pembiayaan untuk mendorong meningkatkan kapasitas usaha melalui Program Petani Milenial Akses Kredit Usaha Rakyat (TANI AKUR dengan bunga yang terjangkau.

“Pagi ini Kementan melalui BPPSDMP telah melaksanakan penandatangan kerjasama dengan lembaga pembiayaan usaha tani petani milenial antara lain BCA, Bukopin, Sinarmas, BPD Kalimantan Barat, BPD Papua, PT. PNM, PT. Era Tani, Kospin Jasa dan BPD Jawa Tengah”, papar Dedi.

Pada kegiatan ini juga akan dilaksanakan program Business Matching antara Petani Milenial dengan Dunia Usaha/Industri, yang berbasis Cluster Komoditas Prioritas Nasional.
“Business Matching adalah upaya membangun kepastian pasar, bahan baku agro industri, peningkatan ekspor komoditas, memperkuat ketahanan pangan nasional dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani yang berkelanjutan”, tambah Dedi.

Sebagai bukti sektor pertanian menjanjikan bagi generasi millenial, Sandi Octa Susila pengusaha pertanian millenial asal Cianjur yang juga Ketua Badan Pengurus Harian (BPH) Duta Petani Millenial/ Duta Petani Andalan (DPM/DPA) Kementan RI mengatakan bahwa tak salah ia memilih sektor pertanian menjadi profesi.

“Ketertarikan saya pada pertanian tumbuh karena saya menemukan permasalahan petani bukan hanya produksi tetapi juga pemasaran. Maka saya coba kembangkan pertanian ini dalam skala modern market, bukan lagi traditional market. Alhamdulillah lebih dari 350 petani millenial binaan telah bergabung dalam usaha yang kami kembangkan,” ujar Sandi.
