KESBANG.COM, KUPANG –  Sembilan dari 22 kabupaten/kota di Provnsi Kepulauan Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) saat ini dilaporkan mengalami darurat kekeringan, menyusul sumber-sumber mata air mulai mengering.

Sembilan kabupaten/kota yang melaporkan darurat kekeringan itu adalah Flores Timur, Rote Ndao, Timor Tengah Utara (TTU), Belu, Malaka, Sumba Timur, Sumba Tengah, Sumba Barat Daya dan Sabu Raijua, kata Kepala Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur, Tini Tadeus kepada Antara di Kupang, Rabu.

“Sampai saat ini sudah ada sembilan kabupaten yang melaporkan darurat kekeringan. Daerah lain belum ada laporan,” katanya terkait kekeringan yang mulai melanda sejumlah wilayah di NTT.

Menurut dia, kekeringan hebat yang melanda ratusan desa di wilayah itu telah berdampak pada kesulitan air bersih bagi warga, terutama yang hidup di pedalaman.

“Kalaupun ada bantuan tanggap darurat yang dilakukan pemerintah kabupaten, maka itu hanya sebatas mendroping air bersih untuk kebutuhan minum dan memasak. Sedangkan untuk mandi dan cuci warga harus memanfaatkan sumber-sumber mata air dari sungai atau embung-embung,” katanya.

Dia menambahkan, laporan darurat kekeringan itu sudah disertai dengan permintaan anggaran sekitar Rp10 miliar, dan sudah diteruskan ke Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) untuk dipertimbangkan.

Khusus untuk Flores Timur, laporan darurat kekeringan sudah disampaikan jauh hari sebelumnya sehingga sudah ada bantuan sebesar Rp500 juta untuk daerah di wilayah paling Timur Pulau Flores itu.

“Di BNPB pusat tersedia anggaran siap pakai bencana kekeringan, sehingga daerah bisa mengusulkan ke gubernur untuk diteruskan ke pusat,” katanya.

Khusus untuk Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan (TTS), Kota Kupang dan Sumba Barat, juga mengalami kekeringan tetapi tidak dilaporkan ke provinsi karena daerah itu sudah melakukan penanganan melalui APBD tahun 2017.

“TTS dan Sumba Barat ini juga merupakan daerah yang setiap tahun selalu dilanda kekeringan, sehingga pemerintah dan DPRD setempat sudah melakukan antisipasi dengan mengalokasikan dana melalui APBD,” katanya.

Dana dari APBD II itu, saat ini digunakan untuk biaya operasional bantuan air bersih kepada warga di desa-desa, kata Tini Tadeus menjelaskan. (Iran)
