Tingkat popularitasnya Dr. Moeldoko sebanding dengan elektabilitasnya, suatu hal yang nyaris tak bisa disamai oleh tokoh-tokoh politisi populer lainnya, yang popularitasnya tinggi namun tak sebanding dengan elektabilitasnya. Bahkan Prabowo yang pernah mencalonkan Presiden dan wakil Presiden berkali-kalipun elektabilitasnya terlihat selalu stagnan, bahkan malahan berkurang dari sisi prosentasenya, pun demikian halnya dengan Anies Baswedan.

Mengapa hal yang demikian bisa terjadi pada Dr. Moeldoko? Jawabannya, ini semua bisa terjadi karena Dr. Moeldoko dianggap oleh banyak kalangan sebagai politisi dan Jenderal Santri yang sangat ramah, dekat dengan semua kalangan, serta sangat memahami karakter bangsa Indonesia yang religius dalam kebhinekaannya. Olehnya Dr. Moeldoko memiliki pertemanan luas dengan berbagai tokoh dan dengan berbagai profesi, suku, ras dan agamanya.

Dr. Moeldoko bukan hanya dekat dengan kalangan politisi dan pengusaha serta para pemuka agama, melainkan juga dekat dengan para petani, aktivis pergerakan lintas organisasi, serta sangat dihormati dan disegani oleh kalangan purnawirawan TNI dan POLRI. Itulah mengapa Dr. Moeldoko bukan hanya sering didaulat menjadi Ketua atau penasehat organisasi-organisasi yang berlatar belakang pebisnis, serta purnawirawan militer, melainkan pula organisasi-organisasi relawan politik dan sosial serta keagamaan.

Tidakkah kita melihat, di tengah-tengah kesibukannya memimpin Kantor Staf Presiden, Dr. Moeldoko telah mengerahkan relawan-relawan pendukungnya untuk melakukan aksi-aksi bakti sosial, mulai dari mendatangi dan memberikan bantuan pada masyarakat yang terdampak Covid-19 di saat badai Covid-19 sedang puncak-puncaknya menyerang warga bangsa ini, sampai bagi-bagi beras untuk para lansia dan orang-orang cacat atau penyandang disabilitas.

Dr. Moeldoko kini semakin dikenal bukan hanya sebagai simbol dari bapak aktivis dan pengusaha serta purnawirawan TNI, melainkan juga sebagai simbol dari bapak para petani dengan dijadikannya Dr. Moeldoko sebagai Ketua Himpunan Kerukunan Tani Indonesia (HKTI). Keuletan Dr. Moeldoko yang mensuper visi banyak organisasi itulah, yang menjadikannya kemudian bukan hanya populer melainkan juga sangat didukung oleh banyak pihak untuk menjadi Capres 2024.

Selain itu, banyak pula kalangan yang mengakui, bahwa Dr. Moeldoko yang menjabat sebagai Kepala Staf Presiden (KSP) dianggap telah sukses besar dalam mengawal kebijakan-kebijakan Presiden Jokowi. Ini bisa dilihat dari misalnya Dr. Moeldoko bukan hanya paling aktif membantu Presiden Jokowi dalam memerangi Covid-19, melainkan juga paling aktif dan terdepan dalam kampanye melawan gerakan terorisme di Indonesia.

Maka tak berlebihan kiranya jika Dr. Moeldoko selama ini dianggap bagai layaknya Harimau Istana, karena dengan statement-statement politiknya Dr. Moeldoko selama ini yang sangat jelas, tegas dan keras menyikapi radikalisme dan terorisme di Indonesia, kaum radikalis nyaris tak terlihat lagi berani beraksi untuk meneror istana dan rakyat atas nama agama. Dr. Moeldoko memang pantas untuk dikenal dan didukung oleh masyarakat, olehnya tak perlu heran kenapa elektabilitasnya mulai meroket dan menembus di jajaran 10 besar elektabilitas calon presiden RI.
