KESBANG.COM, GARUT – Pesantren Ath-thaariq berbasis ekologi, didirikan oleh perempuan bernama Nisa Wargadipura.
Nisa menggerakkan perempuan untuk peduli pada lingkungan di sekitar tempat mereka tinggal. Ia resah terhadap ketahanan pangan yang terjadi di daerahnya.
Selain menerapkan kurikulum pendalaman agama Islam, pesantren Ath-thaariq punya gagasan peduli bumi, peduli sesama, dan masa depan. Ia pernah menjadi ketua Serikat Petani Pasundan (SPP) yang mengadvokasi persoalan lingkungan dan konflik agraria di Garut, Jawa Barat.
Di Garut ada masalah ketersediaan pangan, rendahnya hasil panen, tergantung pada pestisida yang merusak tanah. Sistem pertanian yang dipakai petani adalah sistem bertani monokultur. Misalnya juga ada yang menanam kentang, semua ikut menaman kentang. Ini juga berimbas pada harga jual panen yang menurun.
Nisa kemudian mengajak santri untuk memperbaiki ekosistem. Misalnya membuat semak belukar untuk mendatangkan ular. Tujuannya mengatasi tikus yang merusak hasil panen.
Selain itu, Nisa juga mengajak santri banyak menanam kacang-kacangan yang lebih ramah lingkungan karena untuk menanam kacang-kacangan perlu sedikit air ketimbang menanam kentang dan kubis. “Menjaga ekosistem menjadi solusi penting menyelamatkan kerusakan lingkungan,” katanya.
Peneliti ASEAN Study Centre Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta menyebutkan komunitas perempuan memiliki peran penting menjaga lingkungan dari kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh perusahaan tambang.
ASEAN Study Center melakukan riset terhadap gerakan perempuan di Kabupaten Rembang Jawa Tengah, lalu di Kecamatan Molo dan Kabupaten Manggarai Flores, Nusa Tenggara Timur.
Riset yang dimulai tahun 2015 -2016 menyoroti tiga hal tentang bagaimana perempuan menggali pengetahuan lokal yang berhubungan dengan bagaimana menjaga lingkungan.
Temuan riset, perempuan mengorganisasi gerakan-gerakan di kampung. Mereka melakukan dialog dan memanfaatkan media. “Perempuan Kendeng misalnya, punya kesadaran melakukan gerakan melawan perusahaan tambang,” kata peneliti ASEAN Study Center, Dati Fatimah.
Sementara itu, Beberapa organisasi masyarakat menggelar aksi longmarch dari tosari hingga bunderan HI, Minggu (29/10/2017). Organisasi Solidaritas Perempuan, YouthFeminist Movement (YouthFeM), Koalisi Rakyat untuk Hak atas Air (KRuHA), Kesatuan Nelayan Tradisional Indonesia (KNTI) berjalan kaki menyuarakan yang mereka sebut keadilan iklim.
Mereka mengecam para perusahaan-perusahaan yang merusak bumi namun tanggung jawab dari ulah mereka dibebankan ke masyarakat kecil.
“Jadi kenapa hari ini kita temanya bicara keadilan iklim, karena itu yang akan kita tuntut harus ada keadilan iklim di sini. Tidak boleh yang merusak bumi adalah perusahaan-perusahaan besar tapi kemudian tanggung jawabnya ada di rakyat-rakyat kecil,” ujar Nisaa Yura, koordinator program nasional solidaritas perempuan.
Akar persoalan perubahan iklim adalah aktivitas industri yang dilakukan oleh korporasi-korporasi besar. Dia mencontohkan proyek yang memangkas hutan-hutan Indonesia.
“Jadi bayangkan, yang bersalah yang membuat bumi ini rusak adalah perusahaan-perusahaan. Tapi kemudian yang harus menanggung itu adalah masyarakat yang biasanya bisa mengakses hutan ataupun masyarakat pesisir, ataupun juga petani,” katanya.
Nisaa melihat dalam konteks dampak perubahan iklim, perempuan ada di lapisan paling bawah. Maksudnya, perempuan yang paling terdampak. Ketika terjadi bencana akibat perubahan iklim, perempuan sebagai orang yang secara konstruksi budaya dilekatkan oleh peran merawat keluarga, menjaga keberlangsungan ekonomi keluarga dan lain-lain. Kemudian dia harus mencari cara bagaimana mencari penghidupan dan menghidupkan keluarga.
“Misalnya dalam konteks pertanian, ketika terjadi proses gagal panen akibat perubahan iklim, kemudian tetap saja perempuan itu yang biasanya berfikir bagaimana keluarganya bisa tetap makan sehari-hari dan bisa tetap hidup. Jadi dia akan mencari kerja serabutan entah jadi buruh dan lain lain. Sambil kemudian tetap mengurus urusan domestik keluarganya,” ucapnya.
