KESBANG.COM, JAKARTA – Polemik pelaksanaan waktu belajar di sekolah diharapkan segera berkahir. Ini menyusul telah ditandatanganinya Peraturan Presiden (Perpres) Nomor 87 tahun 2017 tentang Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter oleh Presiden Joko Widodo.

“Saya sangat berbahagia sekali bahwa semuanya memberikan dukungan penuh terhadap Perpres Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter ini,” kata Presiden dalam jumpa pers di Ruang Kredensial, Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, Rabu (6/9) siang.

Menurut Presiden, Perpres ini akan menjadi payung hukum bagi menteri, gubernur, bupati, wali kota dalam menyiapkan anggaran untuk penguatan pendidikan karakter di sekolah, madrasah, mau pun dalam masyarakat.

“Nantinya akan ditindaklanjuti dengan membuat petunjuk pelaksanaan, petunjuk teknis. Sehingga penerapan implementasi di lapangan betul-betul segera bisa kita laksanakan,” ungkap Presiden Jokowi.

Sebelum menandatangani Perpres tersebut, Presiden Jokowi terlebih dahulu berdikusi dengan perwakilan dari lembaga maupun organisasi kemasyarakatan (Ormas) keagamaan di Istana Merdeka. Tampak hadir di antaranya perwakilan dari PBNU, MUI, Muhammadiyah, ICMI, Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah, Dewan Dakwa Islam Indonesia, dan PP Persis.

Menurut Presiden, dalam pertemuan dengan perwakilan atau pimpinan Ormas Islam itu mereka memberikan masukan terkait Perpres Nomor: 87 Tahun 2017. “Semuanya memberikan masukan, sehingga Perpres tersebut betul-betul komprehensif,” jelas Presiden.

Dengan terbitnya Perpres Nomor: 87 Tahun 2017 tentang Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter itu maka Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Permendikbud) Nomor 23 Tahun 2017 tentang Hari Sekolah otomatis tidak berlaku lagi.

Mendampingi Presiden Jokowi saat menyampaikan keterangan pers itu antara lain Menko PMK Puan Maharani, Menteri Hukum dan HAM Yasonna Laoly, dan Menteri Sekretaris Negara Pratikno.
