Jakarta – Kontestasi pemilihan Ketua Umum Ikatan Cendikiawan Muslim Indonesia (ICMI) 2021-2026 akhirnya jatuh ke Prof. Dr. Arif Satria, S.P., M.Si. Dimana Muktamar VII dan Milad ke-31 ICMI ini berlangsung di Hotel Grand Asrillia, Kota Bandung, Sabtu-Senin (04-06/12/2021).
Aroma kemenangan Prof Arif telah tercium sedari awal lantaran sebagian besar Muktamirin menginginkan “darah segar”, pemimpin muda yang mengomandoi ICMI 5 tahun ke depan.
Terbukti, Senin (06/12/2021) pukul 6.25 WIB, Prof Arif meraih suara terbanyak (206) diikuti dari Dr. Ilham Habibi (201) Moh Najib (143), Zulkifli Hasan (140), Prio Budi Santoso (119) Zapar (107), Andi Azhar ( 0) dan Yuliana Paris (0).
Ketua ICMI Orda Cirebon, dr. Asad, Sp. THT. KL mengucapkan selamat kepada Prof. Arif atas terpilihnya menjadi Ketum ICMI, tentu ini amanah berat sekaligus tantangan besar untuk bisa mengembalikan kejayaan dan mamaksimalkan kontribusi ICMI bagi masyarakat.
Lebih lanjut, dr. Asad mengharapkan ICMI di bawah kepemimpinan Prof Arif sebagai wadah para cendekiawan muslim dapat memberikan masukan konstruktif dan terlibat aktif dalam upaya pengentasan kemiskinan maupun pembangunan kualitas sumber daya manusia, sehingga upaya membangun Indonesia bermartabat menuju Indonesia Emas di tahun 2045 dapat terwujud.
Semantara itu, Wakil Ketua 1 ICMI Orda Cirebon, H. Ali Wahyuno juga memberi ucapan selamat kepada Prof Arif.
Apalagi usia ICMI yang sudah 31 tahun, Prof. Arif bakal melejitkan capaian organisasi untuk terus mengukir berbagai prestasi.
Ucapan selamat juga disampaikan oleh Drs. H. Matsai Syarief, MSi. Plt. Ketua ICMI Orda Majalengka kepada Rektor IPB tersebut.
Dengan terpilihnya Prof Arif, ujar Madsai, ICMI semakin berperan dalam mewujudkan kemandirian ekonomi dan kesejahteraan umat.
Langkah untuk mewujudkan kesejahteraan masyarakat adalah adanya pemberdayaan. Pemberdayaan masyarakat (people empowerment) merupakan salah satu perspektif mengenai peran dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam proses pembangunan yang menjadi hak atas setiap individu di alam demokrasi yang menjadikan rakyat sebagai pemilik kedaulatan dan kekuasaan.
