Prof. Nelson Pomalingo: Saatnya Kita Bangkitkan Kembali Produksi Minyak Goreng Kelapa

JAKARTA – Ketua Umum Koalisi Kabupaten Penghasil Kelapa (KOPEK) Prof Nelson Pomalingo mengemukakan tekadnya untuk meningkatkan  produksi minyak goreng kelapa, di tengah langkanya dan mahalnya minyak goreng sawit.

“Saatnya kita bangkitkan kembali produksi minyak goreng yang terbuat dari kelapa. Apalagi, selain minyak kelapa, banyak produk ikutan dari kelapa, seperti batok kelapa maupun sabut kelapa” ujar Nelson kepada wartawan usai rapat Panitia Pembentukan Konsorsium Kelapa Indonesia (KKI), di Jakarta, Rabu (13/4/2022).

Kelapa dan minya goreng kelapa adalah asset Negara yang harus kita selamatkan dengan mendorong agar terus bisa berkembang.

Menurutnya, dengan langkanya dna mahalnya minyak goreng sawit, semestinya menjadi perhatian  pemerintah untuk kembali menggalakkan produksii minyak goreng dari kelapa.

Apalagi saat ini ada sekitar 6 juta petani kelapa di Indonesia. Belum lagi ada banyak pekerja industri kelapa ini.
“Belum lagi tantangan dunia terkait krisis energy, krisis pangan dan Covid-19 menjadi momentum kebangkitan kelapa kita,” tandas Nelson.

Untuk membangkitkan lagi gairah industri kelapa secara nasional, maka Nelson bersama sejumlah elemen yang tergabung dalam asosiasi industri kelapa, asosiasi petani kelapa bersama KOPEK dan unsur pemerintah merintis pembentukan Konsorsium Kelapa Indonesia (KKI).

Panitia Pembentukan Konsorsium Kelapa Indonesia ini menurut Nelson saat ini juga telah membentuk Tim 11 atau Tim Kerja untuk memaparkan hasil kajiannya yang dituangkan dalam draft Naskah Akademik dan Draft Peraturan Presiden dalam rangka percepatan Pembentukan Badan Pengelola Dana Perkebunan Kelapa Berkelanjutan sebagai landasan hukum Asosiasi Kelapa melalui Konsosium Kelapa Indonesia (KKI).

Nelson mengatakan, pertemuan hari ini sebagai upaya memulihkan kondisi kelapa, mengembalikan kejayaan kelapa serta memperkuat perkelapaan di Indonesia dari ketertinggalannya oleh Negara Filipin,  dimana sejak tahun 2018 Indonesia bukan lagi penghasil kelapa terbesar di dunia.

“Maka perlu adanya sinergitas dan penyatuan persepsi antara pemangku kepentingan baik dari Pemerintah, Pelaku Usaha dan Asosiasi Kelapa melalui KKI sebagai cikal bakal Otoritas Kelapa Indonesia yang merupakan model atau bentuk kerjasama pemerintah, swasta dan masyarakat (public private partnership),” ujar Nelon.

Nelson berharap bakal hadirnya Badan Pengelola Dana Perkebunan Kelapa di Indonesia akan menjadikan komodoti kelapa benar-benar menjadi komoditas strategis nasional dan menjadi leading sector yang dapat memperbaiki ekonomi bangsa. Komoditi kelapa yang tersebar luas diseluruh nusantara, lanjut Nelson, peranannya semakin penting dalam perdagangan internasional.

“Tujuan dari penyusunan naskah akademis pembentukan Badan Otoritas Kelapa Indonesia yakni menjelaskan fungsi dan tujuannya agar BLU ini mampu menjalankan fungsi secara baik dengan mengikuti aturan-aturan mengenai tata kelola yang berlaku,” tandas Nelson.

Ditambahkan, targetnya, pada bulan November di Hari Kelapa se Dunia cita-cita ini sudah benar-benar terwujud.

“Dan kami canangkan tahun 2022 sebagai Hari Kelapa Indonesia. Badan Pengelola Dana Perkebunan Kelapa target kami diluncurkan pada September 2022. Karena momentumnya hari kelapa sedunia dan krisis ekonomi harus kita selesaikan ,” jelasnya.
