Sekretaris Jenderal Yayasan Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Jaringan Rakyat, Ical Syamsudin mengapresiasi sikap prerogatif yang dilakukan Presiden Joko Widodo terkait usulan Panglima TNI pengganti Marsekal Hadi Tjahjanto.
Ical mengatakan, sikap Presiden Jokowi sangat visioner dan strategis di dalam menentukan pilihannya jatuh kepada Jenderal Andika Perkasa yang saat ini tengah menjabat KASAD yang diusulkannya menjadi calon tunggal Panglima TNI.

Pengajuan itu tertuang dalam surat presiden (surpres) yang disampaikan oleh Menteri Sekretaris Negara Pratikno kepada
Ketua DPR RI Puan Maharani. Menurutnya, Jokowi memiliki pertimbangan khusus dalam menaruh pilihan kepada Andika Perkasa.

Menurutnya, Ikhtar (pilihan, red) Presiden Joko Widodo nampaknya sudah benar dan sangat tepat. Pasalnya Andika kualifide pada syarat kapasitas, kapabilitas, dan senioritas diantara kepala staf TNI lainnya.
Dengan penampilan yang tegak perkasa, tegas dan humanis. Bahkan saya menilai Andika adalah sosok pemimpin yang sangat disukai kalangan kesatuan TNI bahkan di cintai rakyat.

Lanjut, Ical berharap ke depan Jenderal Andika tidak bergeser dari karakter dan sikap humanis nya itu.
menjalin hubungan baik dan bersinerji dengan semua institusi terutama dengan institusi Polri.
Sinergitas antara TNI-Polri harus terus terjalin baik demi menjaga keutuhan NKRI dalam peningkatan pertahanan dan keamanan didalam negeri.

Menurut Ketua DPR RI Puan Maharani, mengatakan bahwa lembaganya telah menerima Surat Presiden (Surpres) dari Presiden Jokowi mengenai usulan calon Panglima TNI yakni Jenderal Andhika Perkasa notabebe adalah mantu dari mantan Kepala Badan Intelejen Negara (BIN) masa pemetintahan Megawati, A.M Hendropriyono itu yang di usulkan Presiden Joko Widodo menjadi calon tunggal menggantikan masa akhir jabatan Marsekal Hadi Tjahjanto yang telah memasuki masa pensiun nantinya.
