Sekjen IPU: Kepemimpinan Puan Maharani di IPU Jadi Simbol Pemimpin Perempuan di Dunia

DPR RI menjadi tuan rumah pelaksanaan 144th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly & Related Meetings yang diselenggarakan pada 20-24 Maret 2022 di Nusa Dua, Bali. Kepemimpinan Puan dalam pelaksanaan IPU ke-144 pun mendapat apresiasi dari pimpinan forum parlemen dunia itu.

Hal tersebut disampaikan oleh Sekretaris Jenderal IPU Martin Chungong. Ia menyatakan forum IPU kali ini sekaligus untuk merayakan kepemimpinan perempuan di bulan perempuan internasional.

“Kepemimpinan Puan Maharani di penyelenggaraan IPU sekarang menjadi simbol kepemimpinan perempuan dunia,” ungkap Martin Chungong dalam konferensi pers bersama Puan dan Presiden IPU Duarte Pacheco di lokasi perhelatan IPU ke-144, di Bali International Convention Centre (BICC) Nusa Dua, Sabtu (19/3/2022).

Martin pun mengungkapkan pentingnya peran perempuan dalam pembangunan dunia, termasuk lewat parlemen.

“Semoga jumlah perempuan di parlemen Indonesia terus meningkat,” tuturnya.

Sehari jelang pembukaan IPU ke-44, Puan bersama Presiden IPU Duarte Pacheco dan Sekjen IPU Martin Chungong hari ini menanam pohon kelengkeng (Dimocarpus longan) di halaman BICC Nusa Dua, Bali.

Penanaman pohon itu merupakan wujud komitmen IPU terhadap penanggulangan dampak perubahan iklim sesuai dengan tema yang dalam IPU ke-144 yaitu ‘Getting to Zero: Mobilizing Parliament to Act on Climate Change’.

“Kami menanam pohon ini mencerminkan nilai-nilai yang menjadi dasar terselenggaranya sidang ini,” ucap Pacheco.

Nantinya, setiap delegasi akan menanam satu pohon di Bali selama penyelenggaraan sidang IPU ke-144. Pacheco mengatakan hal tersebut merupakan perwujudan dari nilai-nilai yang diyakini seluruh delegasi IPU terhadap penanggulangan perubahan iklim.

“Setiap orang akan tahu kami pernah menginjakkan kaki di Bali, dan itu akan menjadi pengingat ketika kami kembali berkunjung ke pulau ini,” ungkapnya.

Dalam kesempatan itu, Pacheco juga memuji kesiapan Indonesia sebagai tuan rumah IPU ke-144.

“Ini tecermin dari persiapan protokol kesehatan yang ketat, keramahtamahan seluruh panitia dan petugas, serta kepedulian masyarakat Bali dalam menyambut berlangsungnya IPU ke-144,” sebut Pacheco.

Atas apresiasi Presiden IPU, Puan mengatakan hal tersebut merupakan sebuah akumulasi dari kerja bersama yang didasarkan pada nilai-nilai gotong royong sebagai bagian dari budaya bangsa Indonesia. Ia berharap apresiasi dari pimpinan IPU tak hanya menjadi penyemangat untuk Indonesia sebagai tuan rumah.

“Tetapi juga menjadi awal kebangkitan ekonomi dan pemulihan pariwisata tanah air yang sempat mati suri akibat pandemi Covid-19,” kata Puan.

Perempuan pertama yang menjabat sebagai Ketua DPR RI itu pun akan memimpin keseluruhan jalannya sidang IPU ke-144. Dalam kesempatan sebagai President of Assembly, Puan mengungkapkan akan mengarahkan berbagai isu global yang sangat krusial.

“Indonesia dapat menunjukkan kepemimpinan nya dalam mencari solusi dari permasalah global yang dihadapi saat ini, seperti masalah pandemi, perubahan iklim, dan perdamaian,” ujarnya.

Puan melanjutkan, sebagai pemimpin sidang, Indonesia dapat mengarahkan pembahasan berbagai isu, seperti untuk aksi penanganan perubahan iklim agar tetap ambisius namun juga berpihak kepada kepentingan negara berkembang.

“Indonesia juga dapat mengarahkan upaya pencapaian perdamaian dan keamanan, dan penyelesaian konflik melalui jalan damai,” urai Puan.

“Indonesia dapat mendorong akselerasi pemerataan vaksin di dunia,” imbuh mantan Menko PMK tersebut

Puan menegaskan, Indonesia akan mendorong perkuatan kerjasama internasional, solidaritas global, multilateralisme.

“Dan akan menolak unilateralisme,” tegas Puan.

Menurut Puan, tantangan global seperti pandemi dan perubahan iklim membutuhkan solusi dari masyarakat global. “Tidak ada satu negara pun yang dapat selesaikan tantangan global tersebut,” ujarnya.

“Parlemen perlu lebih terlibat dalam pembahasan isu-isu internasional. Peran Parlemen diperlukan untuk memberi dukungan kepada kesepakatan internasional,” sambung Puan.

Cucu proklamator RI Bung Karno ini menyebut peran parlemen diperlukan untuk mengimplementasi berbagai kesepakatan internasional di tingkat nasional dan lokal. Terutama, terkait isu perubahan iklim.

“Semua negara termasuk Indonesia memiliki potensi terkena dampak buruk dari perubahan iklim. Karenanya Parlemen perlu berperan merubah komitmen menjadi aksi nyata mengatasi perubahan iklim,” katanya.

Sidang IPU ke-144 akan dihadiri oleh delegasi dari 115 negara, dengan 33 ketua parlemen negara dunia akan hadir langsung. Total peserta IPU kali ini ada sekitar 1.000 orang.

Selain Ketua parlemen atau anggota parlemen, IPU ke-144 turut dihadiri pimpinan organisasi internasional, para ahli/pakar dan praktisi sebagai narasumber sesi sidang, serta stakeholder lainnya. IPU akan dibuka oleh Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) pada Minggu (20/3/2022) malam. (Sfn)
