Wapres Bahas Demokrasi Dinamis Saat Buka BDF

BANTEN – Wakil Presiden Jusuf Kalla pada Kamis membuka forum demokrasi Bali (Bali Democracy Forum/BDF) ke-10, menekankan bahwa demokrasi semestinya dinamis dan sesuai dengan kondisi masing-masing negara.

“Demokrasi itu dinamis, tidak boleh satu, menjadi all size dilakukan satu cara, tidak begitu! Harus sesuai dengan kondisi masing-masing,” kata Wakil Presiden saat membuka forum itu di Gedung Indonesia Conference and Exhibition (ICE), Bumi Serpong Damai, Banten.

Ia juga mengatakan bahwa forum demokrasi Bali telah menampung pandangan berbagai negara mengenai perkembangan demokrasi sejak penyelenggaraan pertama pada 2008 hingga yang ke-10 pada 2017.

“Selalu penting, kan pandangan-pandangan dunia tersampaikan dan Bali Forum itu bukan hanya di Bali, kemarin diadakan di Tunis, jadi ini untuk selalu mengingatkan bahwa cara yang terbaik itu, paling kurang masalah-masalahnya ialah cara demokrasi, tapi betul-betul harus terbuka,” kata dia.

BDF Bagian Tunis diselenggarakan pada 2 Oktober 2017 sebagai langkah pengarusutamaan demokrasi di kawasan Afrika Utara. Pada pelaksanaan BDF Ke-10, Menteri Luar Negeri Tunisia Khemaies Jhinaoui akan menyampaikan laporan penyelenggaraan BDF Chapter Tunis.

BDF ke-10 mengambil tema “Does Democracy Deliver?” atau “Apakah Demokrasi Tersampaikan?”. Menurut Direktur Jenderal Informasi dan Diplomasi Publik Kementerian Luar Negeri RI Cecep Herawan, tema forum demokrasi Bali kali ini sesuai dengan pernyataan Wakil Presiden Jusuf Kalla bahwa demokrasi merupakan proses yang dinamis dan tidak final. “Tidak ada demokrasi yang dinilai paling baik, kita sama-sama belajar melalui forum ini,” kata dia.

Cecep menambahkan BDF Ke-10 memiliki konsep berbeda dari forum-forum sebelumnya dengan adanya forum pemuda demokrasi Bali (Bali Youth Democracy Forum) dan format diskusi panel antar masing-masing delegasi.

BDF ke-10 diikuti oleh 100 delegasi, termasuk delegasi dari Indonesia dan tujuh organisasi internasional. Di antara 100 delegasi itu ada satu kepala negara, Presiden Nauru Baron Divavesi Waqa, 14 menteri dan 11 wakil menteri, dan sisanya direktur jenderal serta pejabat senior lainnya. (ant/foto: ist)
