Presiden Segera Keluarkan Perpres Media Sustainability

Jakarta – Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) menyatakan segera mengeluarkan Peraturan Presiden (Perpres) tentang Media Sustainability (MS). Ini adalah produk hukum yang akan mengatur pola kerjasama dan hubungan antara media dengan platform global, demi ekosistem pers yang berkeadilan.

Hal itu disampaikan Presiden Jokowi saat menerima Anggota Dewan Pers yang dipimpin oleh Ketua Dewan Pers Ninik Rahayu di Istana Negara, Jakarta, Senin (6/2/2023).

Presiden dalam kesempatan ini didampingi Menteri Sekretaris Negara Pratikno, sedangkan Ninik didampingi anggota Dewan Pers M Agung Dharmajaya, Sapto Anggoro, Tri Agung Kristanto, Arif Zulkifli, Totok Suryanto, dan Yadi Hendriana.

Presiden sepakat dengan masukan Dewan Pers yang dalam penyusunan Perpres tentang Media Sustainability menyandarkan pada Undang Undang 40/1999 tentang pers.

“Dalam hal media sustainability ini Presiden menyetujui bahwa Perpres MS mengacu pada UU Pers sesuai masukan Dewan Pers,” kata Ninik.

Dalam kesempatan ini, Presiden memastikan diri akan hadir di acara puncak Hari Pers Nasional (HPN) di Medan, Sumatera Utara, pada 9 Februari 2023.

“Saya akan hadir di HPN Medan,” kata Presiden. Dalam kesempatan itu, Presiden mendapat laporan dari anggota Dewan Pers berkaitan dengan penggantian pengurus pasca wafatnya Prof Azyumardi Azra, serta laporan mengenai indeks kebebasan pers dan perkembangan media sustainability.

Mengenai kebebasan pers, menurut Presiden itu sudah selesai. “Kalau soal kebebasan pers, saya kira sudah kurang bebas apa. Justru yang penting sekarang adalah media harus bertanggungjawab. Di situ yang penting,” tegas Jokowi.

Presiden juga menaruh perhatian besar pada platform global dalam konteks menjaga keberimbangan dan keadilan yang mesti diantisipasi. “Perkembangan teknologi artifisial inteligent (AI) harus terus diperhatikan oleh pers,” kata Jokowi mengingatkan. (STRATEGINEWS.co)
